ST always try open an old file

#1

Hi, I have this problem:
every time I open a file (any type of file) Sublime Text opens also an old file.
The old file does not even exist anymore so all it opens is an empty file called as the old one.

This is very annoying because I have to close it every time I open a new file.

I think that it’s the first file I ever created with Sublime Text, but I have no proof.

I think it’s the same problem reported in these old threads:

Thanks for the help.

I wonder if it could be related to this somehow, if the desktop shortcut contains the references to those files:

Bug: A file is getting opened automatically

I have no desktop shurtcuts, but I had the software locked on the launcher. I have unloked it but the issue persists, maybe I have to reset some settings?

I just noticed that the natsy old file path appears if I hover the mouse over the ST icon:

(Plot.C is the file that is always opened)

yes, it looks like the same Unity issue then - I mentioned desktop “shortcut” because I don’t really know the name for it - “launcher” might be more accurate.

What’s the result of cat ~/.local/share/applications/sublime_text.desktop?

hmm, maybe do a search for sublime_text.desktop then, to find it

I have these two matches:

/home/myname/.local/share/applications/sublime_text.desktop

/usr/share/applications/sublime_text.desktop
