Open Tabs missing content after upgrade to El Capitan

#1

After Upgrading to El Capitan from Mavericks ST3 open tabs are missing their content. The tab title/text is still there but no content. Wondering if there is a way to restore the content to these tabs or is everything lost?

What does mean:

  1. Open Tabs exactly?
  2. And what is the missing content?
  3. Screenshots?
  4. What you think is lost?

Try reinstall a complete clean install.

  1. Reverting to a clean state (backup your data), if it works, then follow 2:
  2. Complete clean install proceedings

Former, reporting it to the github core issue tracker: https://github.com/SublimeTextIssues/Core/issues

I think the open tabs, the open unsaved windows… lost their content when upgrading to El Capitan…

I believe the information would be stored here…

~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3/Local/Session.sublime_session

Now they are just empty windows with the unsaved content gone. I guess I should have saved before upgrading to El Capitan, or maybe it was the last ST3 update? Do the ST3 updates overwrite sublime_session?

So, you are talking about the session file. You should backup it, now reconstruct your session. Your workspaces still saved whatever you placed them, just find out where and open them with open project.

How do I reconstruct the session?

The same way you did it at the first time you built it, open everything again, one by one, and this time, regularly backup it.
