My HTML syntax isn't working

#1

Hello, world!

I’m brand new to using Sublime. I’ve been using DreamWeaver and saw that it seemed I could use Sublime for more than just HTML and CSS.

My problem begins when I create a new index.html file and place in the format for the page. As I start in with it auto-completes for me (which is great), but all of the syntax is just red. If I type in the body of the page and try to view it in google chrome, there is nothing there.

Why is this happening?

Red is just the color scheme, switch to another color scheme if you don’t like red-based color scheme

Looks like you’ve never written HTML by hand before? You have an empty HTML document, it sure shows nothing in the browser. Try typing something into the body section and refresh the browser.

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate the help.

The previous web editing that I did in Dreamweaver only consisted of editing already created templates. I’m now trying to learn more as far as free handing in a text editer.

I wrote in the body and was able to have the text come up on the web browser. I was actually linked to a different index.html file that I had and that is why nothing was happening as I refreshed the browser. Because my syntax was red I just figured that I had a setting wrong somewhere and that my troubles were linked to that.

I’ll go find out how to change my color scheme to a traditional HTML scheme.

Thanks again.
