Issue when working with a repo with Overcommit installed

I have a repo with Overcommit hooks installed and I get the following whenever I run a git command:

The message also appears when I start a git flow hotfix (the hotfix branch is created properly but the failed message is annoying).

Just to confirm: the gem is installed and I get the message even when using the system git binary.

Any ideas how to overcome this or is this a bug?

Yeah, I’m having the same issue. Not really sure what config might need changing…

I’m not familiar with Overcommit (or doing anything with ruby in general), but the first thing that comes to mind (if you happen to be using MacOS) is that if there is in any way any environment setup that would be needed for Merge to be able to find and locate the right things, it may not be set up the way you think it is.

When I commit from within Sublime Merge it fails… [46%402x] The failure is due to a precommit hook which uses an environment variable which Sublime Merge does not know.
