Indic texts not rendering correctly

#1

Hey there. I am an avid Sublime Text user for years. Everything is great but there is something that’s bugging me since when I started working on Indian languages also that is the same problem of my many Sublime Text user friends.

Many (almost all) Indian languages display correctly in title bar also in the tabs but not in the actual editor.

Marathi:

Hindi:

Bangla (Bengali):

Gujarati:

Tamil:

Telugu:

Kannada:

Malyalam:

Is there any way it can be improved? Can we expect it be fixed in next Sublime release?

It is very unfortunate to note that this issue is not yet resolved, at least, on Windows platform even after more than four and half years since reported.
I request the developers to kindly release a fix at the earliest possible. This issue never existed on Notepad (Windows 10) and Visual Studio code (Windows 10).
Also note that similar issues have been raised here in 2016 and here.
