Textmate has a Shopify plugin that really helps with Shopify theme development:

It is mostly written in php and uses the shopify API to PUT and GET the assets. It shouldn’t be that hard to port to ST2… This port is a bit beyond my skills with python at this point, any pointers to get started? I can help where I can if someone else also finds this worthwhile.
