How to style placeholders (text like `Open files and folders` in the find in files dialog)?

#1

I don’t seem to be able to style the placeholder in the Where: text field.

Usually, such text field properties are styled with Widget - {themeName}.sublime-settings files, but that only lets me change the color_scheme, in which there is no option to style the placeholders. Their color seems to be calculated from the foreground color. I would like to make the placeholders more visible.

This is just a guess, but try adjusting the alpha channel in the color scheme’s foreground setting.

That does change the appearance of placeholders but, as expected, I can only make them less visible (that means that the default opacity is ff).

The problem is not solved :disappointed:?
