How do I get rid of the constant "Update Available" popup?

I have no need to update to version 4, but every time I start ST3 it shows me the update notice. How to I shut that off completely?

set "update_check": false in your preferences. This supposedly only works if you have a license.

How do I disable update checks?

I’m a registered user of Sublime Text 3. I don’t want it to check for updates at launch. How do I disable this?
