How do I get colored fonts?

#1

What package do I install to get this? I’m surprised no one has ever asked this, they seem like they have it already with their sublime text download, but I don’t.

You need to set a syntax for the file you’re trying to view. While the file is opened in ST you can either open the View menu, go to Syntax, and then select the syntax to use for this file. Or, at the lower right of the app in the status bar where it says “Plain Text” left click and select the syntax you wish to use for this file.

Note that in the Syntax menu the top-most option is “Open all with current extension as…” which will open another menu of syntax types. This will apply the selected syntax to all files with the same extension as the file you have opened.

Although this does solve my problem, I should want some more modern coloring. The thing I dislike the most is the white-highlighted text.

Where can I change this?

In the Preferences menu there are Color Scheme and Theme options. You can also use Package Control to install additional color schemes and themes.
