Don't open the file on right click

#1

One thing that’s really annoying to use is deleting files within Sublime, I almost always have to use finder instead which is silly.

The reason is that each file takes 5 CLICKS! to delete, as right clicking opens the file for some reason. Unless I’m missing something simple in settings, I can’t see why it needs to do this.

Here’s a video of what I’m trying to explain

Video of an example here

I think it would be much better to not open the file if it is right-clicked, unless anyone can give me a reason why this is an important feature?

Thanks! :slightly_smiling:

because of https://github.com/SublimeTextIssues/Core/issues/2

The workaround is or to disable preview_on_click (meanwhile this is fixed…)
Or to use sidebar enhancements, which gonna close the tab if dirty, if you enable that option in settings.

Ah ok thanks, so I’ve got Sidebar Enhancements which I’ve had for ages. Just found the setting:

"close_affected_buffers_when_deleting_even_if_dirty"

And set that to true, which has fixed the problem.
Still, it feels very much like a hacky work around and should be something that’s fixed in the core build. It seems to have been a documented problem since 2012!
