Dev build 3195: Recurring unresponsiveness, 100% CPU

#21

FWIW this seems to happen when phantoms are being used - I haven’t been able to track it down completely, but sometimes when RustEnhanced populates the view with phantoms Sublime freezes.

EDIT: Seems to happen more often when they’re at the start of the view.

Hi all,

Thanks for the reports! Build 3196 has been released, includes a fix for this issue.
Let us know if you’re still seeing it.

Kind regards,

I can no longer reproduce it - great work!
(3196 Linux, Ubuntu 18.10)

EDIT: Seems solved for me so far, I was only seeing the issue when using phantoms with the RustEnhanced plugin.
Unfortunately seems like some others are still seeing the issue :frowning:

3196 Windows 10: regular lockup when a tab is moved.

Build 3196 on Windows 10 regularely freezes (every x minutes) when auto complete is happening. The process is then taking about 15% cpu usage. 3195 was fine for me so possibly the fix introduced it?

Hello Dylan. Perhaps I just haven’t been paying attention, but it’s cool to see a new engineer from Sublime HQ!!

Hi all,

For all of you who are still seeing Sublime Text hanging, we’ve released a new development build (3197) that aims to address this issue.

Let us know if you’re still seeing these issues.

Kind regards,

When I press update and install update it says Unable to launch update installer. Downloading from the site works fine.
Also my problem of crashing upon autocomplete seems to be resolved in build 3197. (Also the changelog now jumps from 3195 to 3197, maybe include 3196 for reference purposes again?)

Most likely a permissions issue, although I can’t be 100% sure. Are you on Windows or Mac?

If there is a build that is out for a short while and is sufficiently useless that we need a new build right away, we will usually skip it in the changelog. If you look through the history you will see a few gaps like this.

I wanted to let everyone know that build 3197 it out, and should hopefully have resolved the freezing issue for all users.

Edit: Sorry, I see Dylan already let you all know!

I’m on Windows, used to work before. But most importantly build 3197 has been stable since release for me.

Every once in a while a user will have an update blocked by something. My hunch is that something like an antivirus or network security software may have affected it.

If you continue to see it in future builds, definitely let us know. That said, nothing update-related has changed in a good while, and I haven’t seen any other reports, so it seems unlikely that the updater is broken.

Build 3197 on Mac OSX 10.14.3, after a couple of hours, cpu usage hits 95% for Sublime

This seems to happen whenever I have Sublime open in the background and open/reload lots of tabs (at least dozens) in Chrome, and somehow the CPU usage of Sublime just shoots up.

Wanted to let you know I also experienced the same problem since last week update, had no problems before.
Using portable dev version on Windows. Extracting manually to the dir works, but automatic update fails.
