[Solved] Can someone please check if LaTeX syntax selection is persistent or not?

#1

If I create a Latex Beamer file (starting with \documentclass{beamer}), in my installation it gets the default syntax Latex (not Latex Beamer). If I manually choose Latex Beamer as syntax, after a save it reverts to Latex. Same thing happens if I select it from menu “Open all with current extension as…”.

Can someone please confirm this? and is this the expected behaviour?

On 3111, I:

  • create a new tab
  • paste \documentclass{beamer}
  • the syntax changes to LaTeX Beamer
  • I save it (it doesn’t suggest a default extension, I don’t give it one) as beamer
  • the syntax stays as LaTeX Beamer
  • I close it
  • I open it again
  • the syntax stays as LaTeX Beamer

Most likely a plugin is interfering

Indeed you are right. If I remove LatexTools the syntax is persistent. If I reinstall it, the bad behaviour comes back. Do you have LatexTools installed?

Nope, I don’t use LaTeX :wink:

Ok so apparently a new setting was introduced (maybe in the last update) to always save as Latex. Sorry I did not notice this before, and thank you for your help :slight_smile:
