Search & Replace in files question

#1

When I use search and replace in files (folders) function, the files to be modified are opened automatically.

Is it possible to disable it and run replacing in the files silently, without opening the new tabs?

Thank you.

This is fairly standard behavior and I’m wondering how to do a site wide spelling correction without having 700 files opening. HELP! Thanks!

The best way currently is to use an external find and replace tool. If you are on Windows, there are some decent ones available. If you are on Linux or Mac, there is always sed. I personally use my own home grown one: Integrated external project search and replace.

If you are specifically raising this to encourage Sublime to change their current find and replace methodology, and are not looking for alternative solutions, then disregard this response.
